ginger snaps

  

GINGER SNAP COOKIES  

Mix:

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
4 tbsp. molasses

Sift together:

1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour

Mix shortening, sugar egg and molasses. Sift together cinnamon, cloves, ginger, baking soda, flour. Mix into egg-sugar ingredients. Form into balls the size of walnuts. Dip one side into sugar. Bake 350 degrees, approximately 18 minutes.
